We're nearing the end of another year, and what a landmark year it's been for us at GolinHarris!
Two of the highlights were our 50th anniversary celebrations—which were made extra special by the recent visits of founder Al Golin and President and CEO Fred Cook to markets around the region—and our success at the Asia Pacific PR Awards held in Hong Kong in mid November.
The 50th anniversary was a chance for us to remind our partners and ourselves that although we are only six years "young" as a brand here in Asia Pacific, GH has a long and proud heritage that has really helped define the agency—and that has provided us with an excellent platform for growth in this region.
At the awards ceremony, not only did we come away as runner-up in mid-sized agency Network of the Year, we also clinched a stack of awards for client campaigns. Indeed, GH ended up with the third-highest tally of campaign awards—a tremendous achievement considering the agency's size relative to some of the competition. That continues a proud track record of success in local, regional and global PR awards. Earlier this year, for instance, we won an International Public Relations Association Golden World award (for our work in China for client Zespri kiwifruit).
We think awards are important. They're an endorsement by our industry peers that we are doing work of the highest standard. More importantly, they're a tribute to our clients, and to the true sense of client-agency partnership that is behind every successful campaign. "We couldn't have done it without you" may sound like a corny cliché, but it's also very true!
On behalf of all my colleagues in the GH team, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients for your valued support during 2006 and wish you, your family and friends the very best wishes for the forthcoming festive season.
