of GolinHarris 50th anniversary celebration.

Scott Farrell & Gary Rudnick to Co-Regional Managing Directors

GolinHarris announced on January 24 that Scott Farrell and Gary
Rudnick have been appointed to co-regional managing directors for
the U.S. Central Region, which includes offices in Chicago, Dallas
and Houston. Farrell and Rudnick report directly to Fred Cook, president
and chief executive officer.
"We are establishing a dual management team because of the
importance of the Central Region to the overall growth and performance
of the agency," said Cook. "Scott and Gary are two of
our strongest leaders, and I am confident that this new structure
will leverage their many talents to ensure continued growth in our
largest region, while supporting the overall company."
Under this new structure, Farrell and Rudnick share responsibility
for managing the region while still retaining their respective roles
as managing directors of the Chicago and Texas offices. They have
now joined the agencys Executive Management Committee.
Farrell and Rudnick also assume practice leadership roles. Rudnick
assumes responsibility for the Interactive/Media practice, positioning
and growing the interactive media capability, as well as traditional
media relations. Farrell heads the global corporate practice, which
includes traditional capabilities as well as the corporate social
responsibility specialty group, Change.

record to support Unilever brands Breyers, Popsicle, Klondike
and Good Humor. |

It was announced on January 30 that Unilever Ice Cream has hired
GolinHarris as its public relations agency of record to support
the Breyers, Popsicle, Klondike and Good Humor brands. GolinHarris
has been charged with developing public relations strategies focused
on brand-building, new product introductions, buzz marketing, and
health and wellness communication.
"We were looking for an agency with significant consumer marketing
experience and a proven track record of supporting major brands
in an impactful way," stated Dan Hammer, vice president of
marketing for Unilever Ice Cream. "GolinHarris met those key
requirements but also impressed us with their creativity and their
consumer-focused approach to program development."
GolinHarris was selected by Unilever Ice Cream after a review of
a number of top-tier agencies. The account will be led out of Chicago
by Patti Temple Rocks, executive vice president and director of
the consumer brands group, and Carrie von der Sitt, vice president.
The partnership begins immediately.
"Unilever Ice Cream has a rich history and an impressive portfolio
of some of the most recognized brands in the US," said Fred
Cook, president and chief executive officer of GolinHarris. "Were

Charged to Help Build San Francisco Office & Technology

In February, David Schneider joined GolinHarris as executive vice
president in the San Francisco office. In this position, Schneider
is responsible for leading the overall business development and
growth of the San Francisco office. He will also play a role in
further building the agencys technology business in the Western
Region and throughout the U.S. Schneider will report directly to
Judy Johnson, managing director, of GolinHarris Western Region.
"In addition to his proven track record as a public relations
professional and business manager, David also brings with him great
leadership talents and expertise in the high-tech sector, as well
as extensive experience and knowledge of the global marketplace,"
stated Johnson.
Prior to joining GolinHarris, Schneider served as managing director
of Upstream Asia, where he was responsible for building new business
in Asia for U.S.-based companies. Prior to joining Upstream Asia,
Schneider served as a consultant to Waggener Edstrom developing
Asia-Pacific expansion and acquisition strategies. He has held previous
agency positions at Porter Novelli and Copithorne & Bellows.
