Top Story: GolinHarris Launches GeoImpact

GolinHarris recently announced the launch of its worldwide sustainability practice, branded as GeoImpact. This practice will focus on issues and business imperatives rooted in four key areas of sustainable development.  These were first outlined more than 20 years ago in the historic Brundtland Report: environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, social sustainability and political sustainability.

GeoImpact will be led by Scott Farrell and Lane Bailey. Farrell is regional managing director of the agency’s Central Region and worldwide head of corporate communications. Bailey is managing director of the agency’s Washington, D.C. office and worldwide head of public affairs.

“GeoImpact will help companies and institutions around the world—large and small—design sustainability platforms and communicate commitment and success to key stakeholders,” GolinHarris President and CEO Fred Cook said. “Our point of view is that sustainability has grown from an important plank in a CSR program to become a global ‘value.’ Successful organizations must now look at sustainability issues as part of their bottom line—along with profit and community involvement.”

As part of a global offering, GolinHarris has identified GeoImpact leaders in all of its major global markets including: Brussels, Chicago, Dallas, London, Hong Kong, Greater China, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Orange County (California), Singapore and Washington, D.C.

GeoImpact grew out of existing GolinHarris work on sustainability issues including energy and security, climate change, carbon offsets and sequestration and clean water. The team has extensive experience helping clients leverage existing practices to build strong platforms, garner the right allies and partners and communicate a strong commitment to sustainable development and the world around us. GeoImpact competencies include:

Auditing Sustainability Designing a Dynamic Platform
  Establishing Benchmarks Building Allies
  Leveraging Assets Ensuring Accountability

GeoImpact joins three other GolinHarris specialty practices—Change, bringing corporate citizenship solutions to companies and organizations; Insidedge, leading companies in the development of world class employee communications; and Engage, advising clients on activism and issues management—to offer a suite of unique capabilities and world-class experience that helps lead companies through the complex global environmental, economic, social and political landscape.
