The recent growth of GolinHarris across Asia Pacific has been driven primarily by broadening our geographic footprint—especially in markets like Greater China—and deepening our core public relations capabilities in areas such as corporate communications, consumer marketing and healthcare PR.
Moving forward, however, we believe that more specialized service offerings will be pivotal to our future success as the PR industry aligns itself with economic and societal trends.
Globally, GH took a huge step in this direction last year when, as part of our “Next 50 Years” analysis that coincided with our 50th anniversary, we identified specialty practices to structure our business around critical areas that are shaping our future.
Since then, the Asia Pacific management team has been identifying which of these nine specialty practices are most relevant for the current and future needs of our clients in this region. Practices that we are working to roll out in Asia Pacific include:
Insidedge: Strategic employee communications for today’s dynamic and discerning workforce.
Change: A proprietary approach to corporate social responsibility.
Dialogue: Ensuring a more integrated approach toward communications involving print, broadcast, digital, social and experiential channels.
Longevity: Helping clients maximize the business opportunities of an aging society.
Engage: Activist issues management in response to the growing influence of NGOs.
Additionally, we are developing more specialized service offerings to underline our excellent capabilities in the Food & Beverage and Travel & Leisure sectors. Both these initiatives, which are showcased in this edition of breakthrough, are being launched initially in Greater China and will be rolled out subsequently across the region.
I must emphasize that an important part of GH’s philosophy toward specialization is integration. Our specialty practices won’t operate as “silos” within the agency—rather they will work closely with existing agency colleagues to provide clients with a richer, knowledgeable yet cohesive set of resources.
Look for more information on our specialty practices in coming editions of breakthrough!
